Lori-Ann was born in Pittsfield Maine as an identical twin and was raised by very hard-working parents. She was taught at a very young age to appreciate, respect, and enjoy nature, and all that it has to offer.

At 18, she married her high school sweetheart, and together, they had three beautiful children, Alanda & Joshua. Unfortunately, their middle child, Dawn, passed away at 32 days due to a genetic defect known as Trisomy 18. Currently, they have three beautiful granddaughters.

Lori-Ann's husband, Paul is a Disabled Veteran who has both Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, and several other medical issues, so at the ripe age of 35, Lori-Ann "retired" from teaching and volunteer work to spend more time with her husband to help him have the best quality of life possible. It was then, the couple decided to purchase a camp off the grid at the foot of Maine's tallest mountain, Mount Katahdin. The camp is located at the edge of a beautiful, cold-water lake with a beautiful view.

Lori-Ann grew up as a tomboy and spent much of her childhood and adult life outside as much as possible, running around barefoot, climbing trees, wading, and swimming in waters both deep and shallow, digging in the dirt for fishing worms, and studying nature from every angle possible. So, settling into their newly purchased off the grid camp in the Maine wilderness and no longer holding a job, Lori-Ann quickly found she had a passion for the arts -writing, painting, sketching, photography, and befriending the resident wildlife. Lori-Ann was in her element.

With such hardships as her husband's medical health, Lori-Ann finds a way to be as attentive as possible while exploring not only the land around her, both above and underwater, she continues to expand her knowledge of the world around her and continues to learn new hobbies. Writing about her experiences living off the grid is one such hobby.

Many people wonder how the couple dares to stay in the Maine woods for extended periods of time, especially during the long, brutally cold winter months. The answer to that question is simple, it isn't easy, but they love it. They make the best of what they have and what nature has to offer.

Life is challenging for everyone, but no matter what is thrown at you, you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and face the world head-on.

Want something? Don't be afraid to fail, and find a way to make things happen! Lori-Ann finds a way to make her hobbies happen.
